Licensed Investigation Services · New Zealand
Licensed private investigation services for law firms, corporates, insurers, and private clients. Grounded in government, regulatory, and law enforcement methodology — not just field surveillance.
The Licence
All investigation work is conducted under a current New Zealand Private Investigator licence issued under the Private Security Personnel and Private Investigators Act 2010. Work is conducted lawfully, within statutory limits, and in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020.
"The difference between a surveillance report and a useful investigation is what happens before and after the field work. Most clients need both — they don't always know that at the outset."
— Private Paradox Advisory · AucklandWhat Makes This Different
Most licensed investigators come from security or police backgrounds and operate primarily in surveillance. The work here is different: the lead discipline is analytical — structured intelligence assessment, defensible findings, and reports that are formatted for legal or regulatory use.
Field capability — surveillance, subject location, document service — is available where required, but it is not the starting point. The starting point is the question being asked and the evidence needed to answer it.
For law firms, corporates, and insurers, that distinction matters. A findings report is only as useful as its ability to withstand scrutiny. Every engagement is conducted with that standard in mind from the first instruction.

How We Work
Every investigation follows a disciplined methodology developed from government, law enforcement, and regulatory environments. Ad hoc investigation produces unreliable evidence. This does not.
We establish the specific question, the evidence required, the legal limits of the work, and the form the findings need to take. Scope agreed in writing before anything starts.
Desktop analysis first. Build a picture of the subject and situation before committing to field work. Most answers are available analytically — field work is deployed where it's actually needed.
Field work, surveillance, and enquiries conducted within statutory limits and the Privacy Act 2020. Chain of custody maintained. Nothing that can't be defended in a contested setting.
Written report with documented methodology, evidence sources, and findings. Formatted for the specific use: legal proceedings, HR process, insurer use, or private client. Delivered at the agreed scope end date.
